Autumn

Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.

Albert Camus

The sun is bright

but not blinding,

coating the world

in a hazy afternoon light.

The orange and yellow leaves

drift gently to the ground,

and you are lost,

lost in the beauty

of the world around you.

You pause to think, only about

how lucky you must be

to live in this incredibly

wonderful world.

Happy autumn everyone!

Dream Bigger

Hey there! Sorry about the absence of posts recently—I’ve been extremely busy this past week getting ready for an exciting trip to the east coast with my family (surprise, surprise!)! I’ve missed you all! As of now, we’ve just gotten settled in our hotel rooms by Niagara Falls. Don’t worry, I’ll keep you posted with photos and all—but since it’s pretty dark out right now, I thought I’d share a poem in the meantime. Enjoy!

Dream bigger, dream bigger,

reach higher, reach higher.

Believe in your ambitions,

have faith in what you seek.

Dream bigger, dream bigger,

reach higher, reach higher.

Look far and deep into your soul,

fly until you reach your goal.

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!

Into the Clouds

Rolling weightlessly over the shore

Dipping and soaring

Riding the breeze

Brimming with reds and yellows and greens and blues

Each one carrying a piece of the rainbow

Brilliant and colorful

Threatening to outshine the sun

And climbing forever higher,

as if ready to disappear into the clouds.

P.S. This photo was taken at the 2016 Annual Japan America Kite Festival at Santa Monica Pier.

Train of Thought

A creative train of thought is set off by: the unexpected, the unknown, the accidental, the disorderly, the absurd, the impossible.

Asger Jorn

Hi! I hope everyone had a fantastic 4th of July. Recently, I had the pleasure of designing another logo—this time for fellow blogger and friend Theresa Barker at Theresa Barker – Lab Notes! She has an amazing blog where she writes sketches in fiction and poetry. Feel free to check it out! The following poem was inspired by the above photo.

An endless railway

bears the passengers

of today and tomorrow.

It leads to the lost

places of long ago,

the undiscovered

cities of the distant future.

Board the train of your

dreams until you reach

the point where the sky

meets the sea.

The only limit is

your imagination.

Water Droplet

Hi everyone! Hope you are having a great week! By the way, I just wanted to let you guys know that I am still offering free logo design if you’re interested, and I’m so, so excited to announce my first customer—Laura at SerendipiDIY! She recently renovated her blog completely and I have to say, it is absolutely stunning! Anyways, here is my latest poem, inspired by the above photo. Enjoy!

A single drop of water

falls slowly,

an eternity of silence

broken

for a mere

split second.

Plunging through

the surface,

all that remain

are the concentric

ripples that follow.
